These spiders appear to be mostly nocturnal. They are normally found running about in leaf litter and scrub and are very fast. This one was found in a community centre garden at Bateau Bay and is the only one I have ever seen
Although it is difficult to see from this one image the species is easy to identify because of the unique carapace
